As a nail art lover and artist, you would think that I grew up either going to the salon frequently or wishing I could. You might be surprised to know I've always been an anxious person—who also happened to love nails.

But, unlike others, I wasn't excited to go into a salon. The idea of making calls and sitting with someone for 2-3 hours only to come out as a dissatisfied customer made me quiver. I'm also not in a huge city so finding a great nail artist was difficult and the good ones were always booked! So off to finding alternatives I went.

I began by purchasing all the regular nail polish I could and amassed quite a large collection. But when my love for nail art evolved, I knew the tools I used needed to evolve with it. That's where my love for soft gel began!

If you're not familiar, soft gel is a type of polish that needs UV/LED light to cure but it also soaks off with acetone, unlike hard gel. What I love about soft gel is the superior quality, the longevity, and the incredible shine you get that acrylic will never be able to compete!

I then went on a shopping spree and loaded up on some amazing potted soft gel products from Japan and South Korea. I was blown away! How had it taken me so long to find this nail system?! Luckily for me, the brands I prefer also carry full-coverage nail tips that I eventually came to use to make my Bella Luna press-on nails.
